Yard Operative

Assignment: Temporary position for 2 Months
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour (standard hours) / £16.00 per hour (Sundays)
Location: Plymouth
Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern, including weekend working, 08:00 - 18:00. This is an outdoor operational role, requiring work in all weather conditions.

About the Role
This hands on role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the safe and efficient running of a public facing facility. You'll play a key role in supporting site operations, assisting customers, maintaining safety standards, and carrying out manual handling duties.

Key Responsibilities

Assist members of the general public with high levels of customer service and providing clear guidance and support to site users.
Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around the site.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment at all times.
Carry out manual handling activities in accordance with health and safety procedures.
Promote safe working practices and report hazards, incidents, or unsafe behaviours.
Process customer payments for applicable chargeable waste streams accurately and professionally.
Deliver excellent customer service and represent the site in a professional manner.
Follow all operational procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Skills & Experience

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The ability to work safely in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Good teamwork and problem solving abilities.
Experience of manual handling or general labouring duties.
A reliable, proactive and professional approach to work.
Basic numeracy and confidence handling customer payments.

Manual labouring
Warehouse, Waste management or yard operations
