Full Job Description
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join the Housing, Benefits & Planning team based at the Municipal Offices. This is a full-time role responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across a range of residential and council-managed properties.,
- Carry out internal and external painting and decorating tasks to maintain and improve housing stock and public buildings
- Prepare surfaces, including filling, sanding, and undercoating
- Apply a variety of finishes including emulsion, gloss, and specialist coatings
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations
- Maintain tools and equipment, and ensure workspaces are clean and safe
- Liaise with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors in a professional manner
- Record and report completed work and any additional repair needs
Proven experience in painting and decorating, ideally within a housing or public sector setting - NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Painting & Decorating (preferred)
- Good knowledge of materials, tools, and application techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Full UK driving licence (desirable) Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of community spaces within a supportive local authority team.
