Full Job Description
To carry out general inspections, repairs and maintenance of building fittings and fixtures according to the maintenance schedule
Undertake redecorating of all areas of the home (Internal and External)
Deep Cleaning of Kitchens and Kitchen Equipment and Serveries
Management of drainage systems
Upkeep of exterior of the Home in line with Health and Safety, Discounted local & national gym memberships, plus FREE on-demand workouts and classes available to stream in your living room
Access to low cost saving plans and loans
Hospital and Death Benefit plans at discounted prices
Employee assistance programme & access to free counselling
Free parking
Access to funded qualifications and internal career progression

The HICA Group has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated handy person to join the team at Hampden House in Harrogate.
The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK., Hampden House is a 66-bed purpose-built nursing home located within the prestigious Duchy Estate. The home provides the highest level of facilities and services from personal and nursing care, short-stays and end-of-life care.
We have recently opened a new "memory suite" for those who require extra care due to a dementia diagnosis, while the rest of the home offers a more hotel-like atmosphere, allowing residents with full capacity the freedom to come and go as they wish. Residents in the main part of the home benefit from a touch of additional care provided by our friendly, dedicated team, ensuring their day-to-day life remains relaxed and enjoyable.
The home consists of a spacious and stylish communal area complete with a large TV and a bar, along with an elegant dining area. These areas are complimented by a vast number of windows which make the space very open and light. These areas wrap around a courtyard lushly adorned with foliage and is a lovely suntrap. In fact, the staff often put out tables and chairs in the summertime, so their residents have the option to eat al-fresco or simply enjoy the sunshine.
Hampden House is also currently undergoing some transformational renovations to provide a more extravagant yet homely, cosy atmosphere.
The HICA Group is a 'Not for Profit' organisation providing a range of care services to elderly clients and people with learning difficulties, across a range of services, including our care homes, residential settings and in the community.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
Rate of Pay: £13.33 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 per week
Shift Pattern: Working to a rota covering 7 days per week
