Residential Childcare Support Worker (Sessional/Casual)

Location: Chedzoy, Somerset

Contract: Shift Pattern - ad-hoc cover

Salary: £14.11 - £14.77 (dependent on qualification) per hour plus sleep-in shifts when required

Headway Adolescent Resources was formed in 1999 and has established a good reputation in the residential adolescent childcare sector, pride ourselves on having the insight and ability to care for young people as individuals in a holistic manner, regardless of their background. We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. This fantastic opportunity offers flexibility to work hours you can commit to with no contractual obligation.

Based in a children's residential home, you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour. You need to be flexible, resilient, honest, well-organised, and committed to providing high standards of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes.

Applicants must have:

Previous experience of working with challenging young people, preferably in a residential setting (not essential)

Qualified to QCF level 3 in Children and Young People

Capability to work on their own initiative with a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat records

Good inter-personal skills and be a positive team player

Intermediate computer experience

Ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements

Empathetic nature

Good oral and written communication skills in various contexts

Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people

Full manual driving license (essential)

Additional Information:

Sleep-in allowance of £46 per night as required
