Full Job Description

Do you have experience of working with children, young people and their families and want to join our award winning teams to make a real difference to people's lives? Our Family Support Workers play a crucial role in child and family services, building relationships with children and their families to engage them in meaningful work that assists them to achieve change, create safety around children and promote wellbeing. Building these excellent relationships with families, FSWs often undertake tasks such as direct work to ensure children's views, wishes and feelings are understood, they support children and families to attend and engage with important appointments and meetings, and act as an advocate for those they work with. They liaise with families and our multi-agency colleagues, ensuring good communication and working collaboratively, both case- managing non-complex Child In Need of Care and Support (CINCS) cases, and co-working more complex cases with their social work qualified colleagues. In Swansea, we remain committed to using the Signs of Safety model of practice, embedded over the past 14 years, and have developed our family networking approach to compliment this. An innovative and committed service, we are proud to have been awarded the 2024 Social Care Wales 'Building Bright Futures for Children and Families' accolade.

£31,067 - £34,314 per year. An exciting opportunity to join Swansea Child and Family Services 'Supported Care Planning' teams as a Family Support Worker, assisting children and young people in need of care and support, and their families, to navigate challenges and to live their best lives.
