Do you want a role where you make a meaningful difference to the lives of people in your community? Then join Dimensions as a Male Support Worker in Darlington.

Dimensions are a leading not-for-profit provider of support to adults with learning disabilities and autism. Male Support Workers in Darlington will work with 2 gentlemen, who have learning disabilities, at their homes. You will empower the independence of the gentlemen we support by enabling them to live the life that they choose.

The first gentleman we support is in his 50's. He would like to meet Male Support Workers who can support him with the things he enjoys including:

  • Going to watch Middlesbrough play football (he has a season ticket)
  • Trips to Hartlepool to meet friends
  • Arts and Crafts at home
  • Going to Concerts
  • Playing music (this chap is a big Gary Barlow fan)
  • Picnics in the country
  • Holiday once a year

The second gentleman we support is also in his 50's. He would like to meet Male Support Workers who are happy to:

  • Go and watch Darlington play football with him (he is a season ticket holder)
  • Support him with the litter picking he does by the river
  • Joining him at his dance exercise group
  • Getting involved with Karaoke
  • Doing jigsaws at home

As you can see these men live exciting lives! They would be happy to meet a full-time Support Worker. Shifts run from 09.00-23.00-S.I-7.00-09.00 and 15.00-23.00-S.I-07.00-09.00 at one home. They run 09.00-23.00-S.I-07.00-09.00 at the other.

As these gentlemen have access to vehicles, it is essential that Male Support Workers hold a full manual UK/EU Driving License.

Male Support Workers may also have to assist with finances, meal preparation and personal care.

Benefits for Support Workers choosing to work with Dimensions include:

  • We offer 30 days annual leave pro rata with the option to buy and sell leave
  • If you refer a friend to us and if they're successfully employed, you'll receive a £500 bonus
  • We offer paid training and options to further develop your career through funded accredited courses
  • Bike to Work scheme and discounts on meals, shopping, entertainment, gym membership and mobile phone tariffs
  • We're a values-driven organisation that puts people with learning disabilities and their families at the heart of everything we do
  • We care about our colleagues and are passionate about our comprehensive well-being strategy and staff listening network
  • Dimensions are proud to be one of very few social care organisations that have been recognised by the Great Places to Work programme in 2019-2025

Other important information:

  • Applications are reviewed upon receipt and interviews will take place until the positions are filled
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions
  • We welcome applications from everyone with the right to work in the UK and value diversity in our workforce
  • As disability confident leaders, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy
