Job Description This is a remote position. About Scrumconnect Scrumconnect is a trusted delivery partner to UK government departments and public sector bodies. We design and build user-centred digital services that improve lives. Our teams bring together expert technologists, designers, researchers, and strategists to help our clients solve complex challenges in modern, agile ways. We are currently looking for a Data Architect to join us on a short-term, high-impact engagement.   • Review existing data models, flows, and repositories used in current house buying and selling processes.
  • Define a scalable, secure, and interoperable data architecture to support early and future phases of the service.
  • Identify opportunities for data integration with external systems such as land records, planning systems, and local authority platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with relevant data standards, governance frameworks, and privacy regulations.
  • Partner with Data Engineers to support prototyping and testing of key data pipelines and flows.
  • Contribute to development of performance metrics and success frameworks through improved data structuring and availability.
  • Support the creation of data governance approaches, covering ownership, access control, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and contribute to stakeholder engagement activities related to data strategy.
  • Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in data architecture, particularly in large-scale or public service contexts.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, API design, integration patterns, and secure data handling practices.
  • Familiarity with open data standards, privacy requirements, and data management frameworks.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in collaborative, Agile teams alongside service designers, developers, analysts, and delivery managers.
  • Desirable Skills
  • Experience with tools or technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or ORM frameworks.
  • Knowledge of property, housing, or planning data systems.
  • Exposure to early-phase digital service design (eg, Discovery or Alpha stages).

    Proven experience in data architecture, particularly in large-scale or public service contexts.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, API design, integration patterns, and secure data handling practices.
