Full Job Description
Senior Postdoctoral Researcher
RDM Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU
The University of Oxford is seeking an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our laboratory team in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM) Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
RDM-Cardiovascular Medicine provides a vibrant and dynamic environment for researchers, offering state-of-the-art facilities and a multidisciplinary team approach to cardiovascular research. This opportunity is particularly suited to a Postdoctoral Researcher who has established expertise and a track record in cardiovascular disease, and could benefit from the sustained support of the BHF's award to develop their career and make major contributions to the work of the group.
The Postdoctoral Researcher will be the senior scientist leading the discovery science research supporting the BHF Professorship award to Prof. Keith Channon - a 5 year renewable award that underpins the work of the group. You will lead a programme of research in the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease, that may include a range of approaches including targeted genetic murine models, primary cell culture and analysis, multi-omics and bioinformatics. The biological focus will be on vascular biology, immune cell function and metabolism, with an emphasis on understanding the role of new genes and pathways.
The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to the leadership and direction of the group's research, attract external grant funding, supervise students and fellows, and will be supported in their career development to establish research independence.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof. Keith Channon: keith.channon@cardiov.ox.ac.uk
Only online applications received before midday on September 19th 2025 can be considered. You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, including a brief statement of research interests (describing how past experience and future plans fit with the advertised position), CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
Interviews are scheduled to take place on October 3rd 2025.
