Full Job Description
Cornwall Council currently has 61 Primary Authority partnerships. As the lead officer for a number of our partnerships, you'll work with active partners across the hospitality, retail, manufacturing, importing, and distribution sectors. Your role will involve providing support, developing new partnerships, and delivering training. We are looking for an officer with experience in Health & Safety, and an understanding of food safety and hygiene will be beneficial to provide additional support in the team. You'll also collaborate closely with our Trading Standards and Fire Safety teams, alongside supporting our health and safety enforcement team., This dual role splits your time between supporting Primary Authority partners and engaging with Cornwall businesses through our Business Regulatory Support service. You'll offer bespoke business advice, discuss commercial products, and provide training, particularly in Health & Safety. This role is perfect for those looking to gain experience in Primary Authority support and business regulatory advice. The role will involve making proactive calls and visits to businesses, as well as expanding our relationships with local businesses.
We're looking for individuals with a Health & Safety background, including experience in advising businesses of all sizes, including manufacturers, retailers, caterers, and the hospitality sector. If you have experience of working in a commercial environment, this may also be an advantage. Newly qualified, nearly qualified Officers or those working in the private sector are also welcome to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills alongside an experienced, supportive, and positive team. You'll gain a deep understanding of the businesses you work with, enabling you to provide the support they need to grow and thrive.
