What's new with Aptar We have an exciting position open at Nanopharm, which is an Aptar Pharma Company: Laboratory Technician, reporting to our Laboratory Supervisor. This position is an integral member of the Operations team and will be responsible for providing the professional and effective laboratory checks to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory day to day. This is how your journey begins: Role Overview o Responsible for cleaning and replenishing all glassware. o Organising and conducting replenishment of consumables, solvents, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). o Organisation and storage of all chemical substances according to safety instructions, updating stock list and replenishing where needed. o Ensuring that generated waste is properly disposed of and managed (proper designation of waste e.g., chlorinated and non-chlorinated). o Conduct equipment calibration and planned preventative maintenance (PPM). o Organising and conducting daily checks and verifications on critical equipment's functionality (balances, humidity chambers, fridges/freezers, etc.) o Completing relevant laboratory logbooks and making sure they are filled in correctly. o Booking of samples, chemicals, columns and reference standards. o Work diligently with all chemicals and solutions, ensuring correct storage and handling. o Support the Laboratory Supervisor with the replacement/upgrade of laboratory equipment where required. o Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations. Basics o Always promote Nanopharm & Aptar's best interests by the positive and effective way you perform your duties modelling our Core Values and Rules of Leadership. o Always comply and proactively engage with Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability policies, procedures and instructions to ensure the safety of you and your colleagues. o Always comply and proactively engage with Quality policies, procedures and instructions to ensure we deliver quality work, data and reports. o Read and understand all assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) via the Quality Management System (QMS) in the timeframe specified. o Maintain an up-to-date training record and submit to your line manager at least annually for review, making updates and amendments as necessary. o Complete timesheets, expenses claims, objectives and appraisals in a timely manner as specified by Stakeholders and in line with the relevant company policies. o Ensure confidential information pertaining to the company is not divulged to 3rd parties without the appropriate permission. o Ensure use of IT equipment (e.g. phones, laptops, etc.) is in line with the appropriate Aptar policies.
- A first degree in a science, pharmacy or relevant disciple 2.1 or above could be advantageous Experience: o Previous experience of working in a lab based environment (can be previous work or academic experience) o Awareness of regulatory requirements e.g. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) o Detail orientated person and highly organised. o Confident working in a team and using own initiative. o Proven flexibility in adjusting to a rapidly evolving workload and remaining calm under pressure. o Displays adherence to and promotion of the company values at all times. o Takes ownership for own personal development. Ability to travel: occasional travel for training, inter-site support and customer/3rd party assistance. Travel to split site may also be required for training purposes.
