We are looking for a strategic and technically experienced High Power Semiconductor R&D Manager to lead our R&D engineering team in Chippenham. In this role, you will be responsible for driving innovation, managing project execution, and overseeing the development of high-power semiconductor devices. You will play a critical role in coaching and developing talent, optimizing resource allocation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and aligning engineering efforts with business objectives. About the job: Project & Resource Management

  • Determine and optimize the use of team resources to meet project deadlines and business goals.
  • Adjust resource allocation dynamically to maintain project timelines and budgets across competing priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth project execution from design to production.
  • Technical Project Leadership
  • Lead complex engineering projects that involve multifactorial analysis, data-driven decision making, and a deep understanding of business trends and market demands.
  • Oversee the design, simulation, and development of power semiconductor devices such as IGBT, Bipolar Diodes and Thyristors for the industrial and medium voltage markets.
  • Guide customer-specific product development and interface with global partners and foundries as required.
  • Compliance & Quality Oversight
  • Ensure manufacturing and production processes comply with both internal quality standards and external regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Support failure analysis and process optimization efforts to drive product reliability and operational excellence.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Supervise the characterization, debugging, and qualification of new power semiconductor devices.
  • Lead technical documentation and reporting for internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Conduct and review device failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with global foundries and cross-functional teams (design, process, product engineering) to align efforts.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in power semiconductor R&D, including at least 3 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Strong understanding of power semiconductor physics, devices, and fabrication processes.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in strategic resource planning, prioritization, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership abilities in both technical and operational environments.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance standards and product qualification procedures.
  • Motivated self-starter with a collaborative mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Littelfuse strives to empower associate growth and development in a culture of ongoing collaboration and respect for diverse global perspectives and expertise.
