We pride ourselves in delivering a superior product experience through our rigorous consumer research programme and ensuring the authenticity of our flavours.As a Beverage Technologist, you'll join the Research and Development (R&D) function to support the design and development of our great-tasting products, in line with consumer expectations.Your responsibilities will include...As a Beverage Technologist your responsibilities will include;
- Creating new recipes as well as modifying existing products in collaboration with the Product Development Manager and Senior Beverage Technologists
- Providing support to the Senior Beverage Technologists, ensuring the formulation aspects of a project are successfully delivered
- Undertaking the sensory validation of new recipes
- Carrying out shelf-life testing for new formulas, reporting the results to the technical lead
- Calibrating and maintaining lab instruments and analytical equipment
- Managing lab raw material libraries, maintaining the stock of lab consumables, and updating lab work procedures.
- Working closely with suppliers and production to ensure the successful scale-up of recipes from lab to production.
- Providing technical support on consumer enquiries, trade enquiries and technical developmental issues
Been educated to degree level, ideally in a Food Science or equivalent discipline - Previous experience within the food industry or a laboratory environment would be an advantage
- Good written and oral communication skills are essential as you'll be interfacing with technical and non-technical colleagues internally and externally, in addition to reporting test results
- A good attention to detail in order to accurately formulate new recipes and to identify potential abnormal reactions taking place within the product. You must also have a good nose and sense of taste, which is essential in critically assessing any products developed
- Proven ability to self-motivate and use initiative, as you'll be creating multiple iterations of a product which meet the Product Development Manager's brief
