This role entails providing a repair, maintenance and service to the Ministry of Justice fleet. Ensure best practise is employed in the servicing and maintenance. Ensuring that the fleet is legally compliant prior to issue to fleet users or on its return to the facility and after any repair or conversion activity. The contracted hours will be:

Monday to Thursday: 0800hrs to 1600hrs
Friday: 0800hrs to 1530hrs.
To provide a vehicle service function including the replacement of failed components.
To Carry out the Service / Maintenance /Defect on all the Demounts throughout the Calendar Year.
To be available to assist the Engineers in Workshop 1 and 2 when required.
Checking in of all New Vehicles delivered and prepping to Issue standard
Organising collections on a day-to-day basis collecting vehicles and parts when required
Making sure all vehicles going to auction are in a road worthy condition
Preparing vehicle Record Books for all new vehicles being allocated
Familiarizing themselves with all New Vehicles delivered so a professional handover can be given.
Wash Vehicles as and when required
Cleaning Down all machinery when required in both workshops and Garage
Fully engage with the Health, Safety and Training Manager, Workshop Management and Transport Unit Managers in terms of policy, risk assessment, safe systems of work and training.
Build up and maintain relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders and actively promote a culture of excellent customer service.
Report hazards. Support the Workshop Manager in creating a safe working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors by adhering to Health and Safety legislation, ensuring Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Risk Assessments (RA) are followed, and by reporting any incidents to the Workshop Manager., The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.
