Full Job Description

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of major planning applications, including residential schemes of up to 300-400 units. The role involves direct engagement with developers, stakeholders, and elected members, and requires confident representation of the council at committee.,

  • Lead on complex major applications from pre-app through to decision
  • Prepare and present reports to Planning Committee
  • Provide expert planning advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with planning legislation and local policy
  • Represent the council in negotiations and public forums

    Extensive experience in Development Management, particularly major applications
  • Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and procedures
  • Confident communicator with committee presentation experience
  • RTPI Chartered (or eligible) preferred
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
