Full Job Description
As the BIM Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic implementation, maintenance, and advancement of BIM processes across the practice. The ideal candidate will support project teams to ensure BIM execution is aligned with current standards (including ISO 19650), drive digital innovation, and act as the key point of contact for BIM-related matters. The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following: Role Requirements Standards
- Develop, implement, maintain and routinely present the practice's BIM Strategy and standards including manuals, templates, libraries and content. Develop new protocols, families etc. where gaps are identified.
- Lead the adoption of ISO 19650 and ensure compliance across all projects.
- Lead and undertake the ISO 19650 yearly audit and certification.
- Automate routines to support standards and productivity including research and development of Dynamo scripts.
- Lead and support teams on BIM contractual and administration including preparation of BEPs, review of EIRs, AIRs etc. together alongside the Associate. Lead negotiation of these with the client or contractor team.
- Review and comment on BIM contractual information for projects. Prepare fee proposals for BIM services.
- Where required, liaise with external consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure effective BIM collaboration.
- Oversee and coordinate model management, quality control, and clash detection.
- Provide quality control procedures for completeness and adherence to company standards.
- Keep up to date with latest BIM guidance and legislation to ensure alignment with best practice. Software
- Alongside our IT team manage the incorporation of new version releases of BIM software such as Revit Architecture.
- Alongside our IT team manage the implementation of supporting software for BIM.
- Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies including Solbori.
- Stay informed on best practice for use of Revit Architecture and AutoCAD.
- Stay informed on other BIM related software and how they work with Revit. Project
- Lead on project standards and ensure the implementation within all projects. Support project teams with tasks which may require specialist or proficient Revit knowledge (tasks often require technical architectural understanding to ensure effective problem solving).
- Host and lead on the 'digital setup' of projects at each stage of work. Provide the project setup for teams and advise teams on project modelling strategies and identifying project training needs.
- Develop and audit process and undertake audits at key milestones.
- Assist with creation of complex Revit families in response to project needs.
- Assist/advise teams on COBie and FM deliverables; and execution.
- Assist/advise teams on BIM clash detection within Navisworks or use of clash monitoring platforms such as Revizto, BIM Collab, Jira, Solibri and others.
- Prepare a structured BIM support system with implementation (inc. presentation) to the practice. Training
- Identify knowledge gaps (through working with project teams and BIM champions) and actively manage and monitor these.
- Prepare a training plan and deliver targeted training to individuals, teams and practice.
- Provide technical BIM orientation to new employees regarding BIM tools and processes.
- Test and monitor employee's skills development with regards to BIM.
- Attend key industry BIM events and engage with industry innovation/upcoming updates or changes in software to bring back learning and ensure Morris+Company is 'ahead of the curve'. Practice
- Integration of BIM processes with feasibility work, sustainable design, 3D renderings, specification management, digital prototyping/modularization.

Architectural degree or equivalent in a related field. - Minimum 5 years' experience in working in the BIM Manager role or similar, ideally within architectural practice.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of architectural team requirements in order to guide development of most effective methods to achieve team goals.
- Experience in the management of ISO 19650 certification and standards.
- Expert knowledge of Autodesk suite, clash detection software's such as Solibri etc.
- Experience of setting up new projects and ability to discuss/recommend appropriate strategies for structuring information.
- Proficient knowledge of BIM processes, BS EN ISO 19650 requirements.
- Ability to communicate with teams, clients and consultants on BIM Management topics including roles and responsibilities as defined by BS EN ISO 19650, Uniclass classification, COBie and FM deliverables.
- Experience in creation and/or review of contractual / administrative BIM documentation including ISO 19650 Lead Appointed Party/Appointed Party documentation, EIRs, AIRs, BIM Execution Plans etc.
- Experience of BIM coordination within Navisworks and/or use of clash monitoring platforms such as Revizto, BIM Collab, Jira, Solibri etc.
- Experience of Dynamo and/or script writing to improve efficiencies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BIM 360. Skills Required
