Full Job Description
As a Grants Officer, you will support Principal Investigators (PIs) and other grant holders to effectively manage their research funding. You will review award letters against applications submitted and raise any variances with the PI or Grants Manager.
Additionally, you will provide advice and support to the Principal Investigators and researchers in the preparation of funder applications, working with them to complete funder application forms and liaising with internal and external collaborators.
You will be educated to degree level or with equivalent experience relevant to the role as well as experience of research grant costing and grant accounting, including a thorough understanding of the accounting requirements of the major funding bodies. You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. You will have an understanding and manipulating financial and project data, with a high standard of numeracy and attention to detail.
Previous knowledge of research grant funding in UK universities and ideally experience in the administration of research grants and contracts is desirable.
