Summary
Are you looking for an admin role with a difference? Do you enjoy working in a busy environment? If you do and you are a team player who takes pride in their work, are organised, and enjoy helping people, then we have the role and the team that may be a perfect fit for you.
This is a post that provides a breadth of experience and will provide you with the fundamentals of understanding how local authorities work and give you the experience to develop core skills. You will be working across both the democratic services and electoral team by providing efficient admin duties to support elected members (Councillors) and electoral registration, with the added benefit of earning extra money during the busy, but exciting times leading up to an election.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a 'can do' approach to join a progressive team, keen to exploit the use of technology to advance the 'digital democracy' agenda.
The work is varied - duties include providing support for a range of formal and informal meetings (with some minute taking), helping to promote the transparency of political decision making with the use of livestreaming, operating a hybrid meeting system to allow physical or remote attendance at Council meetings, supporting elected Councillors in their ward and corporate roles, and assisting with the running of elections.
You will need to be a good communicator with a high level of tact and political awareness and an ability to maintain strict confidentiality. The post requires the use of a number of IT systems so proven IT ability is essential. Previous experience of working for local government is not essential as full support will be provided to train and develop the successful applicant provided they can demonstrate their ability to operate in a high pressure work environment. The democratic 'hub' is based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, and some aspects of the job need to be carried out at that location but there is the opportunity to work from home for other parts of the job.
Ydych chi'n chwilio am rôl weinyddol gyda gwahaniaeth? Ydych chi'n mwynhau gweithio mewn amgylchedd prysur? Os ydych, a'ch bod hefyd yn gweithio'n dda mewn tîm ac ymfalchïo yn eich gwaith, yn drefnus, ac yn mwynhau helpu pobl, yna mae gennym rôl a thîm a allai fod yn ddelfrydol ar eich cyfer.
Mae hon yn swydd sy'n darparu profiad helaeth, bydd yn rhoi dealltwriaeth sylfaenol i chi o sut mae awdurdodau lleol yn gweithio a bydd hefyd yn rhoi'r profiad i chi ddatblygu sgiliau craidd.
Byddwch yn gweithio ar draws y gwasanaethau democrataidd a'r tîm etholiadol drwy ddarparu dyletswyddau gweinyddu effeithlon i gefnogi aelodau etholedig (Cynghorwyr) a chofrestru etholiadol, gyda'r budd ychwanegol o ennill arian ychwanegol yn ystod yr adegau prysur ond cyffrous sy'n arwain at etholiad.
Rydym yn chwilio am unigolyn brwdfrydig sydd yn llawn cymhelliant gydag agwedd gadarnhaol i ymuno â thîm blaengar, sy'n awyddus i fanteisio ar dechnoleg er mwyn symud yr agenda 'democratiaeth ddigidol' yn ei blaen.
Mae'r gwaith yn amrywiol - mae dyletswyddau'n cynnwys darparu cefnogaeth ar gyfer ystod o gyfarfodydd ffurfiol ac anffurfiol (a chymryd cofnodion), helpu i hyrwyddo tryloywder penderfyniadau gwleidyddol gan ddefnyddio ffrydio byw, gweithredu system cyfarfodydd hybrid er mwyn caniatáu i bobl fod yn bresennol yn gorfforol neu o bell yng nghyfarfodydd y Cyngor, cefnogi Cynghorwyr etholedig yn eu swyddi ward a chorfforaethol, a chynorthwyo i gynnal etholiadau.
Bydd angen i chi fod yn gyfathrebwr da gyda lefel uchel o dact ac ymwybyddiaeth wleidyddol a bod â'r gallu i gadw cyfrinachedd llwyr. Mae'r swydd yn golygu defnyddio nifer o systemau TG felly mae profiad o allu defnyddio TG yn hanfodol. Nid yw profiad blaenorol o weithio mewn llywodraeth leol yn hanfodol gan y bydd cefnogaeth lawn yn cael ei darparu i hyfforddi a datblygu'r ymgeisydd llwyddiannus, ar yr amod eu bod yn dangos eu gallu i weithio mewn amgylchedd lle mae'r pwysau'n uchel.
Mae'r 'ganolfan' ddemocrataidd wedi'i lleoli yng Nghoed Pella, Bae Colwyn, ac mae'n rhaid ymgymryd ag agweddau o'r swydd yn y lleoliad hwnnw, ond mae yna gyfle i weithio o gartref ar gyfer rhannau eraill o'r swydd.
