Full Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the data collection, organisation and reporting within the SSNAP audit.
The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) is a major national healthcare quality improvement programme. It measures how well stroke care is being delivered in the NHS in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and provides timely information to clinicians, commissioners, patients and the public so it can be used to improve the quality of care that is provided to patients.
The post holder requires the ability to work on their own initiative, dealing with all aspects of the work and referring to colleagues when necessary in relation to issues outside of own area of expertise. Candidates should be flexible and adaptable in their approach and able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
To lead on the delivery of the SSNAP audit project and to develop an in-depth knowledge of the stroke database and train others when necessary. The post is also vital in supporting performance through investigation and communication with other teams.
Data collection is also for the purpose of research and audit under supervision of the clinical team.
Finally, you will provide administration support on the unit and any other area as requested and support key members of the multidisciplinary team for stroke.
The role will also support service development initiatives when required within the remit of SSNAP data collection and analysis.

· - The collection and inputting of data from various Trust databases onto the SSNAP database.
· - Develop in-depth knowledge of stroke database and train others when necessary.
· -To support performance through investigation and communication with other teams.
· - Ensure database is accurate and that a system exists to ensure all information is captured and is validated.
· -Liaise with the creator of the database to report any problems that arise with the system in a timely fashion, suggest changes to the database if appropriate. Attend webinars to ensure knowledge of SSNAP is current and to communicate this with relevant participating teams from stroke MDT.
· -Develop an excellent understanding of the stroke and other associated databases and demonstrate its use to other people .
· -Data collection for the purpose of research and audit under supervision of the clinical team.
· -To support key members of the multidisciplinary team for stroke.
· - To provide adhoc administration support to the broader service as required.
· - At all times to adhere to relevant policies and protocols of the Trust.
· - At all times working within the Trust Core Values.
· - Use own initiative, working without direct supervision, to fulfil the role's aims.
· - Prioritise and manage own workload and takepersonal responsibility for a number of specific tasks, providing cross cover for tasks/responsibilities within the service, should the need arise.
· - Be the first point of contact for database enquiries and communications, proactively acting where appropriate or hand over to the appropriate member of the team for required response.
· - NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
· - Previous knowledge of data administration/inputting experience
· - Good command of spoken and written English.
· - Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to enable you to communicate clearly by telephone, email and face to face with a range of people.
· - Advanced keyboard and IT skills required.
· - Possess resilience to deal with any distressing and emotional demands of the role.
· - Good planning and organisational skills to be able to prioritise workload effectively.
· - Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
