Full Job Description
An established Museum Group is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight during a period of change and growth. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, this role will lead the Finance and Procurement teams, ensuring sound financial governance, strategic alignment, and excellent service delivery across the organisation. You will play a key role in planning and risk management, helping the organisation achieve its long-term ambitions. You will have proven experience in an arts institution, and significant team management experience. We will be reviewing CVs throughout the process so please apply as soon as you are able to. Your Role
- Lead the Finance and Procurement teams, ensuring a responsive, customer-focused business partnering function.
- Deliver robust budgeting and forecasting processes, engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Oversee financial operations, cash flow management, and investment relationships.
- Ensure statutory compliance and act as the key contact for external auditors, regulatory bodies, and funders.
- Lead the production of statutory accounts and provide regular updates to the Audit Committee.
- Support major capital projects with strategic financial oversight.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of a finance systems implementation project.
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, sustainability, and inclusion across the department.
Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). - Proven experience leading a Finance function, ideally within a charity, visitor attraction, or heritage environment.
- Strong team leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and experience managing relationships with auditors, funders, and financial institutions.
- Familiarity with investment and procurement functions.
