We currently have a great opportunity for a Record to Report Manager to join our Finance team in Exeter. Your team are responsible for maintaining the accounting books and records for the Group and ensuring that these are appropriately maintained and reconciled. The Role: As our Record to Report (R2R) Manager you will be responsible for driving the efficient and effective operation of our shared service management accounting team in support of activities across the Pennon Group. You will be responsible for optimising workload balancing, standardising and "leaning out" processes to optimise efficiency and accuracy and driving a team that consistently delivers on time, on quality and without issue. \n What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the development and maintenance of a standardized process for all R2R management accounting activities across the Pennon Group.
  • Driving a process of continuous improvement using "lean" methodologies to ensure that activities are executed consistently and reliably in the most efficient way.
  • Balancing workload across the R2R team to ensure a reliable team output with sufficient cross-skilling and knowledge to cope with planned and unplanned absences without affecting team output.
  • Working alongside the Group Financial Control team to effectively implement corporate accounting policies and procedures in all areas under your control.
  • Delivering consistent, timely and reliable outputs from month end and recurring processes to support the wider Finance team in executing its planning, reporting, analysis and business partner activities.
  • Supporting the annual and ad-hoc audit processes.
  • Managing and leading the R2R team, ensuring effective performance management, development and succession planning is in place.

    Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience operating as a manager within a Financial Accounting or Management Accounting role.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to identify and implement standardization and drive efficiency into the activities their teams complete.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities including process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • trong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
