Full Job Description
The Deals Tax team at PwC collaborates with the Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of transactions, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Recovery Services, and Real Estate. As part of the Private Equity Portfolio Tax team, a leading group within PwC's Deals Tax network, the team supports Private Equity-backed businesses throughout the deal lifecycle. Operating nationally and internationally, the team offers diverse opportunities for career development. Candidates with a strong UK corporate tax background and awareness of other taxes are preferred. Experience in transactions or the Private Equity market is desirable, with full training and support provided. What your days will look like:
- Manage and mentor a growing team while providing bespoke tax advisory services to PE portfolio company clients, covering a wide range of areas including international tax and deal cycle support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and junior team members, delivering proactive, innovative, and commercial tax services.
- Collaborate with specialists from other tax areas and the wider network, particularly in transaction services and international teams, to provide comprehensive solutions.
- Actively seek and develop business opportunities, identifying and progressing potential engagements with new and existing clients.
- Continuously develop and share technical knowledge and business acumen, staying updated with industry insights to address and solve complex technical challenges for clients.
Possess a Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) qualification, or international equivalent, with strong UK corporate tax skills and awareness of other taxes. - Some transaction experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support are provided; a flexible approach to working with multiple client and transaction teams simultaneously.
- Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships and networks, with developed communication skills for negotiating and influencing others.
- Strong analytical, project management, and report writing skills, including experience in project managing and delegating work within a team.
- Commitment to self-development and the development of others, applying tax technical knowledge and insights in a commercial environment.
In order to be the leading professional services firm it's important we have the right values, culture and behaviours embedded throughout our organisation, so our work reflects our purpose and we can successfully deliver our strategy. Our values set the expectations for the way we interact with each other, our clients, and in the communities in which we operate. These values, and the behaviours that they require from us, are relevant to all our people regardless of grade. They support a culture that empowers our people to be the best they can be, through challenging experiences and encouraging our people to speak up to make the firm a better place. We want all our people to understand and embrace the culture and personally feel part of the legacy this will create for our future employees. We're a hugely diverse business, bound together by our purpose - to build trust in society and solve important problems for our clients and the communities in which we operate. We believe we can make the biggest impact when our purpose is embedded within everything we do.
