Your role involves supporting the function to deliver services that are vital to the running of the railway, delivering the provision of services agreed by the routes to allow them to benefit from economies of scale and the optimisation of our critical resources.About the role (External)Main responsibilities· Support the business teams in providing financial information as required to aid in efficiency finding.· Assist in the analysis of periodic financial performance of individual business units against objectives (including budgets and forecasts).· Prepare and distribute appropriate financial reports to budget holders to support financial control and aid performance management and target achievement.· Support the NSC charging process to provide support and further analysis as required,· Promulgate awareness of financial and corporate governance standards, and support and monitor compliance.· Assist in the balance sheet provisions and detailed reconciliations on a periodic basis.· Support the team as required, to deliver a comprehensive financial and business partnering service to the business areas.The ideal candidateMeet the essential criteria/ Apply today to join our team!Essential· Knowledge of current accounting standards· Commitment to working towards an accountancy qualification· Advanced Excel skillsDesirable· Experience in management accounting role· Financial management systems experienceHow to apply (External)Vacancy Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week, but flexible working patterns will be considered.Duration: PermanentThis position is based in: The Quadrant, Milton Keynes - applicants should live within 75 minutes of The QuadrantClosing date: 18th July 2025Band & Salary: Band 5, £24,000 to £26,000You can visit for advice on accessibility support if you're unsure of the options available.
