Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic individual with Assessor and IQA qualifications who demonstrates a thorough understanding of assessment verification and external moderation processes. You will have a strong track record in leading course reviews and driving quality improvements, with the ability to analyse performance data and contribute to high-quality reporting. Experience in observing staff and delivering constructive feedback is essential, as is a deep knowledge of internal quality assurance and teaching methodologies aligned with current best practices. A confident communicator, you will be capable of engaging effectively across all levels and will be highly organised, adaptable and forward-thinking. Familiarity with the Education Inspection Framework is expected, along with the motivation to inspire others and champion an outstanding learner experience. Additionally, candidates must exhibit strong leadership in the coordination of quality processes, ensuring consistency and excellence across assessment and verification practices. A proactive mindset, coupled with a commitment to continuous professional development, will be vital in fostering innovation and maintaining high standards in teaching and learning. This role demands a collaborative approach, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive change that enhances the educational journey for all learners. The main purpose of the Quality and Standards Coordinator is to work closely with the Head of Quality and wider Quality Team to support academic departments in striving for, developing, and achieving consistently outstanding standards. This role will take ownership of long-term quality strategies, ensuring they align with college-wide goals for quality assurance and contribute meaningfully to improving the learner experience.,
- Contribute to the long-term quality strategies of the college to achieve continuous improvement and assurance supporting an outstanding level of learning.
- Anticipate and respond to Awarding Body requirements.
- Support new curriculum developments in line with national changes and the quality assurance of EQA reports.
- Engage with the Quality Review Week process and advise on quality improvement, and the progression of action plans.
- Support the monitoring and reporting of the courses on Notice to Improve (NtI) and Stretch to Outstanding (S2O).
- Undertake learning walks and the evaluation of the learner experience.
A Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate discipline and current relevant post 16 educational experience. - An Assessor and IQA qualification.
- Experience of leading/co-ordinating assessment verification processes and a strong understanding of external moderation processes.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Internal quality control and assurance processes linked to ensuring that a range of learners receive an outstanding experience.
- An understanding of the Education Inspection Framework
