Water Meadow View is a brand new mental health inpatient facility for adults who have learning disabilities, which is due to open in November 2025 on our site in Whittingham, Preston. As we prepare for the opening, we have an exciting opportunity for Clinical Leads to join us and support the multi-disciplinary team to plan for the delivery of outstanding person centred care. One of the Trust's aims is to deliver the best possible care to our patients. Water Meadow View will offer clinical excellence, support and safety, with patient-centred care at its heart. Working with the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, evidenced based care and patient experience within the care group's inpatient settings through proactive clinical leadership to staff at all levels within their clinical area of responsibility. As a clinical lead you will have responsibility for the delivery of the models of care and have responsibility for one of 3 key areas including Reducing Restrictive Practice, Physical Health and/or Positive Behaviour Support with an overarching responsibility to support a trauma informed approach to care. The post holder will deliver on key responsibilities within the inpatient service by:

• Being visible and leading by example
• Using clinical judgement and observations
• Clinical teaching, upskilling, and assessment of staff and student nurses
• Ensuring that patients, families and carers are fully involved in the planning and delivery of care
• Ensuring safe and high-quality care is delivered
• Driving up clinical standards
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care. The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
