About the Company

Octopus Legacy is one of the UK's fastest growing startups, helping over 1 million people plan for and navigate through death - but we're just getting started. After our founder Sam lost his mum suddenly, we built what the market had never seen: a service that combines estate planning and bereavement support with something genuinely human. Voice notes. Music. Recipes. A legacy that actually means something. We're not competing in this space. We're redefining it. Backed by Octopus Group, we're the best positioned business in the market to scale across UK financial services, and we're moving fast. This role is how we get there.

The Role

This is a senior, high-impact enterprise sales role. You'll own the full cycle from pipeline to close, building and converting strategic partnerships with insurers, banks, adviser networks, and financial institutions across the UK. You'll report into the CEO on key deals, and have real influence over how we expand our market share. If you're a high-performing sales professional looking for a genuine opportunity to build something rather than maintain a territory someone else built, this is it. You'll be selling with the Octopus Group name behind you. One of the UK's most recognised and trusted brands, with over 7 million customers and a reputation that opens doors before you've said a word. We have the product, the backing, and the market timing. We need the person who can go and close it. Octopus already has deep relationships with thousands of financial partners across the UK. This role gets to leverage that network to scale our proposition across UK financial services - and beyond.

What You'll Do

Map the UK financial services landscape and build a targeted pipeline across insurers, banks, adviser networks, and wealth managers - then convert them into long-term partnerships that scale.

Leverage existing relationships across the Octopus Group to open doors faster - then convert them into long-term partnerships that scale.

Get us known. People already know Octopus - this is about showcasing the breadth of services we can offer. Whether that's speaking at industry events, hosting roundtables, or simply being visible across UK wealth, insurance, and banking circles.

Run deals end-to-end. From the first conversation to a signed contract, navigate complex organizations with multiple stakeholders, align commercial terms, and get ink on paper.

Make the numbers do the talking. Build partner-specific business cases showing how our platform drives wealth retention, improves customer experience, and supports Consumer Duty obligations.

Grow senior relationships across the sector. Engage with heads of distribution, chief customer officers, and board members to shape partnerships.

Who You Are

7+ years selling into UK financial services at an enterprise level, with experience closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with insurers, banks, or wealth managers, along with established relationships.

Deep understanding of how these organizations operate from the inside, including politics, buying committees, and commercial pressures.

Known how to persuade a head of distribution to say yes.

Naturally curious about partners’ businesses, customers, pain points, and how our services fit into their strategy.

Direct communicator who sets their own pace, builds their own structure, and works independently.

Experience building or eager to build a market, comfortable with long sales cycles and shifting stakeholders.

Passionate about the impact of bereavement support and capable of explaining its importance to skeptical executives.

Understanding of selling into FCA-regulated environments, consumer duty, and compliance responsibilities.

Benefits and Working Conditions

Together, we can help to make some of the toughest times in people's lives easier. Strategic Partnerships Manager - Charity #J-18808-Ljbffr
