Full Job Description
Are you passionate about sport, exceptional facilities, and creating a welcoming and safe environment for young people to thrive? We are seeking a committed and energetic Sports Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our indoor sporting provision across the stunning 100-acre Habs Elstree campus - home to Haberdashers' Boys' School and Haberdashers' Girls' School. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in supporting physical activity and sport across two leading independent schools. Working closely with our Director of Sporting Operations and Development, you'll ensure our outstanding indoor facilities - including two swimming pools, sports halls, squash courts, fitness suites, and more - are maintained to the highest standard and are safe, welcoming, and ready for use by students, staff, and external visitors. You'll lead a small team, oversee lettings, support key school events, and take a hands-on approach to both day-to-day operations and longer-term planning. Whether you're responding to a maintenance issue, preparing for a gala, or liaising with our Commercial and Estates teams, no two days will be the same. This role is full-time: Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of seven on a flexible shift pattern, with one hour for lunch. Some flexibility is required for evening and weekend duties (e.g. school events, lettings, galas). What you'll bring:
- Experience managing or supervising sports or leisure facilities - ideally in a school or similar environment
- Strong leadership, organisation, and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and proactive approach to solving problems and delivering great service
- Confidence working across varied tasks - from technical operations to customer service and admin
