Residential School Nurse Start date: To be agreed Status: Full Time during term time (34 weeks), Permanent Salary: £35K-£43K FTE prorated for term time We are excited to be recruiting for a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a new role arising from the School's expansion of provision into overnight stays for pupils. This is a rewarding opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working with young people and would value making a lasting difference to our pupils' physical and emotional health. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students within the accommodation
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day running of our accommodation
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students
- Monitor academic progress and liaise with teaching staff
- Organize and supervise accommodation activities and routines
- Maintain strong communication with parents Person Specification: Essential:
- Professional healthcare qualification
- A caring, calm, and proactive approach to student care
- Experience in a clinical, school, or paediatric setting
- Excellent communication and administrative skills
- Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols Desirable:
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RSCN) with NMC registration
- First Aid Instructor qualification or experience delivering training
- Previous experience in a school, boarding, or youth setting
- Mental health training or interest in adolescent well-being The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in a similar role in an educational setting
- A nurturing, firm, and approachable manner
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider pastoral and academic team
- A commitment to the ethos and values of all-girls education The accommodation is available to the girls from Monday morning to Friday afternoon on a flexi-boarding basis, and our School Nurse will occupy her own suite in the accommodation over those evenings. Should the successful candidate require full time accommodation, that can also be arranged. Set in beautiful woodlands in the village of Sunninghill, near Ascot, The Marist School is a leading independent Catholic day school for girls aged 2 to 18. We have a large and diverse staff body who all work collaboratively within our warm and welcoming school community.
