The Council is leading and assisting with a wide range of highway infrastructure projects across the area and are seeking an experienced Highways Engineer to deliver a wide range of highway and traffic initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Participating in works associated with processing and supervision of vehicle crossover applications
Undertaking projects relating to highways, traffic and other infrastructure improvements
Assisting with the maintenance of public rights of way network
Assisting with the supervision of roads offered for adoption on new developments
Preparing reports and providing technical advice to other departments
Attending meetings, dealing with the public and handling enquiries and complaints
Co-ordinating work programmes with the existing part-time Highways Engineer.

Have a relevant Engineering or Technical qualification
Have a wide range of experience in dealing with highways and traffic matters in a customer-driven environment
Have good organisational, time management and communication skills
Have the ability to handle multiple projects at once
Have a current valid driving licence.
