Provide an identified year group of students with outstanding support and guidance, enabling them to thrive and succeed
Address attendance, behaviour, pastoral and welfare concerns and help pupils overcome barriers to learning
Work collaboratively with school staff, families and external agencies to support student wellbeing
Help provide accurate attendance, punctuality, behaviour and other pastoral information to governors, leaders and staff
Maintain a high profile around the school and promote high standards of behaviour, uniform and equipment
Offer practical support, mentoring and guidance to students
Liaise constructively with parents and carers to support attendance, learning and wellbeing
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and data analysis
Take a lead role in supervising pupils and maintaining a positive learning environment with high expectations
Support whole-class cover, break and lunchtime duties, on-call arrangements, detentions and strategic behaviour interventions
Contribute to safeguarding and the protection of all pupils

We're looking forThe ideal candidate will have experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age and the ability to build positive relationships with young people and adults.
Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2
Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
The ability to relate well to children and adults

A basic understanding of child development and learning
An understanding of the role of support staff and other professionals in helping students fulfil their potential
A flexible, proactive and positive approach
