They've recently evolved into a more mature, product-led engineering organisation with dedicated squads aligned to Product, and are now hiring a backend engineer to sit at the centre of how they generate revenue. This is a high-impact role focused on building and scaling the systems behind subscriptions, payments and pricing - owning the reliability and performance of the monetisation funnel end-to-end. What you'll be doing:

Designing and building scalable backend systems that power subscriptions, billing and pricing logic
Owning the performance, reliability and correctness of revenue-critical systems
Working closely with Product and Data to support experimentation, analytics and growth initiatives
Helping shape how monetisation is built as the business continues to scale

Strong backend engineering experience in high-scale, consumer-facing products
Experience working on business-critical systems (payments, subscriptions, or similar high-throughput environments)
Ability to work closely with Product Managers, challenge where needed and prioritise effectively
Strong communication skills and a product mindset
Experience with in-app purchases or subscription platforms
Background in mobile-first products
Exposure to analytics, experimentation or feature flagging systems
Fully remote, distributed team
Mature squad structure with strong engineering leadership
