Full Job Description
The role will involve the following:
Using specialised skills to complete assessment and treatment of patients with complex neurological presentations including spasticity management, seating, providing education of postural and movement management to patients living in the community, on an Outpatient basis.
Develop and deliver a comprehensive training programmes and service development with all members of the MDT
Training and development of more junior staff including qualified physiotherapists and therapy assistants and will include completing annual appraisals, as appropriate.
Deputising for Band 7 Physiotherapist in the day-to-day management of the physiotherapy team including attending meetings.
You will be expected to take part in the In-Service Training programme for other Neurological Band 6 staff to help you progress your skills.
Previous applicants need not apply, To provide assessment and treatment to patients with complex neurological presentations, within the department of Neurological Outpatients Therapy Service in the Specialist Rehabilitation department of Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.
To provide support, guidance, training and evaluation of qualified and unqualified staff. This would include working with the support team/family in the patients community, and other members of the MDT to deliver a comprehensive training programme.
To ensure professionalism and excellent communication with staff, patients and relatives in routine and complex circumstances, including holding difficult conversations.
To deputise for the Band 7 in the day-to-day management of the unit including attending relevant meetings.
To develop and deliver a comprehensive training programme for the MDT.
You will be expected to perform occasional home visits with other team members to educate both patients and their family and the community team.
As part of your interview there will be a practical task.
