Description: Applications are invited for a 6 month Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) post within NHS Dumfries and Galloway, to cover gaps within the General Surgery Training Programme. This post is available from 6th August 2025 until 3rd February 2026, with the possibility of a further 6 month extension. The region offers beautiful countryside, from rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to forests, hills and rolling plains. There is a wide range of activities on offer, with watersports, fishing, birdwatching, golf, mountain-biking or cycling along the network of rural roads and much more. House prices are low, schools are good and you are within 2 hours of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lake District and Newcastle. Applicants must have full GMC (UK) registration, sound academic knowledge, good communication skills and be an effective team player. To be eligible for the post you must have completed foundation training or equivalent.
