We are seeking experienced and motivated Phlebotomists to join our Staff Bank to support GP practices across Cornwall. Working on a flexible, as-needed basis, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective blood sample collection services, contributing to timely diagnosis and ongoing patient care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within different practice settings, adapting to local systems and processes while maintaining high clinical standards.,

Perform venepuncture in line with clinical guidelines and best practice
Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and reassurance throughout procedures
Confirm patient identity and obtain informed consent
Label, store, and prepare samples accurately for laboratory testing
Ensure samples are dispatched promptly in line with protocols
Maintain accurate clinical records clinical systems
Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
Report clinical concerns or anomalies appropriately
Work collaboratively with teams to support service delivery, Shifts are offered on an ad hoc basis depending on service need
You will be expected to maintain mandatory training and competencies

Recognised training/qualification in phlebotomy
Previous experience in a primary care or similar setting
Ability to work independently and adapt to different practice environments
Experience using clinical systems
Strong communication and patient care skills
Flexible and reliable approach to work
