Full Job Description

Full time, part time or job share applications will be considered.
The post is a full time permanent role, covering 37.5 hours over a 7 day working week. Participation in the out of hours service will be an essential requirement, once deemed competent in all relevant areas.
The OOH service is provided over 24/7, 365 days with a shift pattern derived through e-roster.
The post will be rotating across all sites in ABUHB, this includes the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny and the Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran.
The department has full UKAS accreditation and is an approved IBMS training laboratory. Continuous professional development (CPD) and completion of an IBMS Specialist Portfolio (if required) is actively encouraged and supported., The Haematology & Coagulation laboratories on all sites of ABUHB are currently equipped with Sysmex automation, Immunology with Werfen and Thermo equipment, whilst Blood Transfusion uses Biorad equipment.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to CPD, have excellent interpersonal and time-management skills, be flexible and committed to service excellence and be keen on supporting development of Pathology services within South East Wales.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.
This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.
