Content Writer and Editor, Endangered Archives Programme

Contract: Fixed Term for 6 months

Hours: Part time for 21.6 hours

Grade: C

Salary: £18,786 Pro Rata (FTE £31,244)

About the role

The Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) at the British Library gives grants via an annual funding round to projects to survey and digitise archive collections across the world. Since 2004, the Programme has helped digitise more than sixteen million images and 35,000 sound tracks. Archive types digitised so far include rare printed sources, manuscripts, visual materials, audio recordings. The digitised outputs from over 500 projects supported by EAP are accessible via the EAP's website. All projects are represented on the website with summaries of their aims and final outputs. The job holder will create and edit these summaries, to ensure a consistent 'house style' and to increase discoverability of the collections.
