Full Job Description
The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare is seeking to appoint an external examiner for our newly re-approved PG Cert and MSc Infection Prevention and Control. Applicants will need to have an understanding of the specialist practice of infection prevention and control in health and social care settings. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced lecturers. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University's criteria for appointment. Tenure will normally be for a period of four years. There is one intake per year, based at the Brentford campus. The assessment boards are all held virtually using Microsoft Teams meetings. As an External Examiner you will be expected to:
- Be employed in Higher Education
- Scrutinize samples of examination/essay scripts and other assessed materials, advising module assessment boards on the content and standard of assessments.
- Attend a minimum of 2 assessment boards a year.
- Review of student's recognition of prior learning claims.
- Review new modules in preparation for validation events.
- Advise on academic misconduct and appeal cases.
- Submit an annual report to the University Quality Boards. Indication of modules you would be responsible for

- Epidemiology and Biostatistics
- Evidence Based Infection Prevention and Control
