Full Job Description

Tremendous opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing team. Based out of Cardiff you will initially be responsible for projects in Bournemouth, Bristol and Liverpool so will be comfortable with travel and able to manage remotely. As the successful applicant you will manage and support the day-to-day activities of the construction / design team ensuring the programme plan is achieved within agreed timescales, to company safety standards and client specification. Primary Responsibilities

  • Offer experience and support during pre-tender stage / bid stage as directed, seek opportunities and identifying risks.
  • Plan and arrange project meeting schedules, organising the site team daily to deliver programme requirements (including programme review meetings).
  • Plan and manager works throughout pre-construction service agreements.
  • Plan weekly / monthly activity (inc. weekly/monthly site team meetings)
  • Ensure project filing is correctly set up including contract control file and updated accordingly.
  • Co-ordinate the activities of sub-contractors/trades to ensure work is carried out efficiently conducting a weekly sub-contract progress/ H&S review meeting.
  • Monitor the quality of work carried out and address any issues with both colleagues and suppliers.
  • Implement and maintain health, safety and environmental legislation and company procedures.
  • Ensure all programmes, plans, method statements and risk assessments are up to date, understood and adhered to by all.
  • Ensure the QS monitors the financial status of the project, identify solutions to problems and improvements whilst organising activity to deliver.
  • Identify potential issues with successful project delivery, identify improvement opportunities and celebrate success.
  • Liaise closely with Operations Director and highlight and key / project concerns as early as possible.
  • Attend weekly senior team meetings with Operations Director and report on projects progress / issues accordingly.
  • Plan and liaise with other operational / construction managers re site staff resourcing and placement of weekly paid operatives.
  • Ensure contract monitoring is carried out weekly and reviewed / signed off weekly.
  • Ensure contract control file is reviewed regularly and signed off.

    Previous experience of responsibilities indicated
  • Strong communicator both verbal & written with the ability to influence and lead others
  • Previous experience in a similar role highlighting contract management including the ability to management multiple contracts
  • A track record that evidences high standards and a desire for continuous improvement
  • Experience of leadership, setting clear expectations alongside performance review.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a career that provides evidence of solid cost control.
