We're looking for an enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to join our Food & Safety Team, helping to protect communities and support local businesses across Swale, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. This is a dynamic, varied role where you'll combine regulation, advice and partnership working to drive high standards in food safety and workplace health. What you'll be doing

Carrying out inspections and investigations across a wide range of businesses.
Supporting businesses with clear, practical advice to achieve compliance.
Taking enforcement action where needed, including preparing cases and attending court.
Investigating complaints and public health risks, including infectious disease cases.
Leading on specialist areas and contributing to service improvement projects.

A degree or diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent).
Experience in food safety and health & safety enforcement.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of people.
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage your own workload.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to public health.
Full UK Driving License and access to a car.

Financial: An attractive basic salary within a clear pay structure. A starting salary of £44,357 increasing to £45,525 after one years service and increasing further to £46,692 upon completion of two years in post (subject to managerial approval).
Holiday Entitlement: 26 days annual leave (increasing to 29 days after 5 years continuous Local Government service) plus three additional days in December and bank holidays.
