About Us

We are Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, dedicated to providing air ambulance and critical care services across Bristol, North Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and parts of Wiltshire. From volunteers to Specialist Paramedics, from senior Consultants to retail and fundraising staff, we are a team, working to save lives that would otherwise be lost. We seek to continually develop and adapt our activities to meet the needs of local communities, whilst impacting nationally and influencing global pre-hospital care. Our work is deeply satisfying, and every member of the team is committed to this service, and to saving as many lives as we can.

About You and The Role

At Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, we're looking for a new Grants Manager to support the work of our growing regional charity. This role focuses predominantly on trusts and foundations, with responsibility for a growing portfolio of grant funding requirements.

We're looking for someone who understands that one size doesn't fit all when it comes to grants; someone who can adapt their approach to the person in front of them and help turn a long-term vision into reality. The role is suitable for someone with a proven track record of delivering significant grant funding, securing multi-year partnerships, and providing excellent stewardship and reporting.

We're looking for a candidate who is dedicated to doing their best, a person who can work independently but can collaborate with clinical and fundraising colleagues, who has compassion for supporters and stakeholders, and who is curious about exploring new approaches and keen to learn and develop. The successful candidate will have great written communication skills and experience in developing projects and funding requirements.

Why Join Us

GWAAC is a great cause to fundraise for, with amazing stories to tell and exciting opportunities to grow our service further. Our work is very rewarding for our team. We know that we are contributing to saving local lives every single day, equipping our clinical team for tomorrow, and building for our charity’s long-term future.

You would be joining GWAAC at an exciting time, as the charity continues to innovate in pre-hospital care. You will be supported in developing your skills and be part of a dedicated team committed to saving local lives.
