Youth Worker (16hrs Per Week)

The Youth & Community Service is looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced Youth Workers who can use their initiative to develop and deliver a range of targeted activities in a variety of settings. These activities should be exciting, dynamic, and centred around the needs and interests of young people. As a Youth Worker focused on participation, you will be ensuring that children and young people's voices are heard and lead to positive changes across our services. From supporting direct work sessions to outreach and more, you can help make sure that children and young people are heard. The role will involve daytime, evening, and some weekend working. Duties will include:

• Working in the youth service alongside the Participation Officer & Neighbourhood Youth Officer to set goals and priorities.
• Delivering group sessions to a variety of young people across the borough.
• Feeding back young people's voice.
• Developing strategies to increase participation with young people.
• Planning, co-ordinating and delivering youth work activities.
• Working collaboratively to ensure activities are well planned, engaging and responsive to the needs and interests of young people.
• You'll work with children of all ages as well as some of our care-experienced young people and Member of Youth Parliament project (MYP) developing trusting relationships so that young people have the confidence to share their views and experiences.
Participation requires creativity, collaboration, and communication. We are looking for someone who can deliver the changes children and young people want to see from their local authority. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.

The post available is 16 hours Level 3 (D+) dependant on skills and experience with a salary between £15.27-15.77 per hour.
