Fixed Term up to 31 March 2026


We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. With extensive experience of working with young people in a variety of community and centred based settings.


Using the new mobile youth centre, the Youth Outreach team will work in partnerships with South Wales Police, Youth Justice Service and third sector providers to provide targeted support in identified community settings.


The role is vital to bridging the gap between the young people who already access our provision, and those who do not currently engage in our activities. This role will involve developing an understanding of the current local needs of young people, meeting them in safe spaces where they feel comfortable, and supporting them to access positive activities.


Working closely with the Senior Development Worker (Open Access and Outreach) the post holder will be responsible for transporting the centre to locations around the county, setting up and taking down in a safe and controlled manner, and as such should have the ability to work as a team to support young people in a variety of community based and outreach settings.


Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.


An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.


A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.


The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.


Weekend Working are a requirement of this post.
