Youth Justice Practitioner

The purpose of your work will be to reduce the risk of reoffending in accordance with the agreed intervention plans and in the context of managing risk of harm to others and vulnerability issues. As a member of a multi-agency service, you will work in partnership to:

• Complete assessments.
• Complete reports for Court and panels.
• Work directly with young people, and their families, with a diverse range of needs, to complete interventions as part of their statutory programme.
The role also includes regular attendance at Youth Justice team, and multi-agency, meetings for the purpose of prevention and risk management. You will be expected to be part of the service's duty rota, attending Youth, Magistrates, and Crown Courts regularly. This post is subject to a Full UK Driving Licence. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. This is an area-based roles covering West Kent (Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks). You will be working with young people aged 10 - 18 years who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System. Travel is essential to deliver our service, therefore, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
