Youth and Community worker

You will work as part of the ASB Youth Engagement Team, providing targeted youth work in communities where youth-related anti-social behaviour has been identified. Working mainly through detached and outreach youth work, you will engage young people in hotspot locations, build positive relationships and provide activities and support that help reduce ASB and improve community safety. You will work closely with partners including Police, schools, community organisations and other services, responding to emerging concerns while ensuring young people have access to positive opportunities, support and a voice in their communities.

You will be passionate about working with young people and confident engaging them in their own communities. You will understand youth work principles and know how to build positive, trusted relationships with young people from a range of backgrounds. You will understand the issues affecting young people and communities, including youth-related anti-social behaviour. You will be a strong communicator, able to work well with partners and use good judgement in challenging situations. You will be approachable, reliable and comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to work regular evenings and weekends., To be appointed to this role you must be able to prove your right to work in the UK, and you must maintain a valid (active) right to work. Reach Adolescence Safeguarding Service is a dynamic and creative service that works with young people, families, victims, and communities who are affected by crime, ASB and other risk factors.

As a service we take an asset based, restorative approach, using the voice of young people to help empower them to shape their communities and raise aspirations across the borough.
