Full Job Description

Cherwell District Council is situated in the town centre at the Cherwell District Offices, which is in the historic market town of Banbury, in Oxfordshire.We are entering a new and exciting phase in the Council, and you will be an integral part of Team Cherwell. We are a busy council, with lots going on and are looking to strengthen our Wellbeing team. The apprenticeship will teach you a range of skills as well as getting a Level 4 Sports Coach (Foundation Degree) with Ignite where you will gain valuable experience coaching in schools and the community. Working with our Leisure Facilities team you will also gain an understanding and experience of the day to day running of our leisure facilities. This post will be led by the Senior Youth Activators, you will join the Activator team and take on a wide range of opportunities in supporting, running and leading in the range of different sporting programmes the Activators deliver. The apprentice will need to be able to travel to Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington and surrounding villages. It is normally three different schools a day in different locations across Cherwell. It is a great opportunity to learn and develop your coaching skills whilst working with a great accompany of people. We are friendly and dedicated teams and highly regarded for our presence in the community. Our purpose is to provide the residents of Cherwell with quality opportunities for people to be active. Please note that applicants must be aged 18 or over, as this role is linked to a Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship and candidates must meet the apprenticeship programme's entry requirements The Person: We are looking for an ambitious individual who is wanting to further their knowledge and has an interest in sports development and coaching, physical activity, health and wellbeing and leisure facilities
