Full Job Description
Team overview - The Youth Impact Programmes team supports vulnerable young people aged 16-25 across Cambridgeshire to overcome barriers, build confidence and resilience, and move into education, employment or training. We deliver creative group work, community-based and outdoor activities, working closely with a wide range of partners to achieve lasting positive outcomes.,
- Deliver trauma-informed group work and activities (with occasional one-to-one support)
- Support young people to build confidence, resilience and progress into EET
- Assess needs and risks, contributing to safeguarding and referrals
- Work with partners to connect young people to community opportunities
- Maintain accurate records and outcome data
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety and equality policies
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and residentials, Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, along with our employee network 'IDEAL' and self-organised peer support groups help us to foster an inclusive, supportive and safe working environment where people feel valued, respected, and empowered. We collect relevant diversity data for monitoring as part of the recruitment process to understand the diversity of our applicants and monitor any trends throughout the recruitment processes so that we can take meaningful action.
This post involves working with vulnerable young people and requires a strong commitment to safeguarding in line with Council policies. Working arrangements - This is a mobile role requiring flexible working, including evenings, some weekends and residentials, to meet programme needs. Regular travel across Cambridgeshire is required; a full driving license and access to a car are essential. - Experience planning and delivering group activities or group work with young people or vulnerable groups
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people aged 16-25
- Ability to work safely within policies and procedures
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Relevant Level 3 qualification (youth work, education or similar)
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Experience supporting young people with complex needs (e.g. NEET, SEND, care-experienced, exploitation) Desirable
- Experience of partnership or multi-agency working
- Level 4 or higher qualification in a related field
