Full Job Description

We are a joyful and ambitious girls' independent prep school, known for our warm community, exceptional pupils and strong sense of shared purpose. We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable and confident practitioner to join our team in a hybrid Year 4 Teaching Assistant and Cover Teacher role.

This is a varied and rewarding position, combining school-wide internal cover with a shared Teaching Assistant role in Year 4 - a pivotal year academically and pastorally. The successful candidate will become a valued "known face" in school, supporting continuity of learning, high expectations and pupil wellbeing.

About the role:

· Deliver confident, high-quality internal cover across KS1 and KS2

· Follow teacher planning and maintain positive routines and behaviour

· Work closely with two Year 4 class teachers to support learning through small-group and individual work

· Provide targeted support for SEND pupils

· Play an active part in school life, duties, events and contributing to the school's extensive club provision

· Full time, term-time only, Monday - Friday; normal hours are 8.00am-4.00pm, but the post will require some flexibility with start and finish times including the provision of after school clubs

The ideal candidate will:

· Hold HLTA status or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

· Be confident delivering and supporting curriculum content across Reception, KS1 and KS2

· Have experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or EAL

· Be flexible, proactive and enjoy working collaboratively

· Be keen to contribute beyond the classroom to a vibrant school community

Why Join Us?

· Exceptional girls: curious, articulate, kind and a joy to teach

· Supportive, collegiate staff culture with strong leadership and high trust

· A school that values professionalism, warmth and humour in equal measure

· A role with real purpose, variety and meaningful impact

· A community where people genuinely enjoy coming to work

This role would suit an experienced HLTA or qualified teacher who values relationships, continuity and being part of a close-knit, forward-thinking school.
