Full Job Description
This role is for Internal applicants only currently Employed by the University of Leeds
Are you an experienced Programme Manager with a background in clinical research or clinical operations? Are you highly organised, an effective communicator, and motivated to deliver complex, international research collaborations? Do you have the passion to work across academic, industry, and non-commercial environments to support a high-impact research network?
EUSTAR is an international network of Systemic sclerosis (SSc) centres that contribute clinical data to a central database, the EUSTAR Registry. The network and its scientific activities are led by the EUSTAR Board and delivered in collaboration with academic investigators, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
As EUSTAR Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management of a programme of research projects conducted using data from the EUSTAR Registry, primarily in partnership with industry collaborators. You will coordinate and lead the activities of the EUSTAR Delivery Team (including the Medical Lead, Biostatisticians, Database Manager, and Administrative Assistant), providing operational and functional leadership, supporting professional development, and ensuring effective collaboration across clinical, statistical, data management, and administrative functions.
You will manage projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines, quality standards, and contractual requirements. This includes developing and co-developing project proposals, supporting funding and contractual arrangements, coordinating statistical analysis planning and data analysis, overseeing project reporting, and acting as the primary operational liaison with industry partners throughout the project lifecycle.
To support the successful delivery of this programme of projects, you will also play a central role in ensuring that the EUSTAR Registry is well maintained, fit for purpose, and supported by strong engagement from EUSTAR centres. This includes oversight of database development in collaboration with the Database Manager and Medical Lead, supporting the on boarding of new centres, and coordinating communication and support activities that encourage high-quality, complete, and timely data entry across the network.
In addition, the role contributes to EUSTAR's wider sustainability through support of educational activities, financial management, third-party contracting, and relationship management with key commercial and non-commercial partners. The role will also contribute to strategic planning activities aimed at strengthening EUSTAR's long-term scientific, financial, and operational sustainability.
You will engage regularly with EUSTAR centres, industry partners, and external organisations, and represent EUSTAR at international meetings and events as appropriate.
