Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join Public Health Wales as a Workplace Health Adviser within the Healthy Working Wales team, part of the Health Improvement Division.

This role offers an opportunity to support employers across Wales to improve the health and wellbeing of their workforce through evidence-based workplace health and wellbeing approaches. Working as part of a national team, the postholder will provide advice, guidance and practical support to employers to help them create healthier, happier working environments and embed sustainable wellbeing initiatives.

The ability and willingness to travel across Wales, including occasional overnight stays, is essential for this role.

The post can be based at any Public Health Wales office across Wales, with flexible and hybrid working arrangements available in line with organisational policies.

Main duties of the job

Healthy Working Wales is a Welsh Government-funded programme that supports and encourages employers across Wales to create healthier, happier workplaces through the development of policies, practices, environments and activities that protect and promote employee health and wellbeing.

The programme helps organisations achieve a range of positive business, workforce and organisational outcomes while contributing to the health and wellbeing of the working-age population in Wales.

The postholder will work with employers from a variety of sectors and sizes, providing advice, support and signposting on workplace health and wellbeing. They will support employers to assess needs, identify priorities and implement evidence-informed approaches that improve employee health and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of workplace health and wellbeing resources, learning opportunities and engagement activities. They will build and maintain positive relationships with employers and stakeholders, facilitate learning and sharing of good practice, and support the evaluation and continuous improvement of Healthy Working Wales activities.

The role requires strong communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills, together with the ability to motivate and influence others to take action to improve workplace wellbeing.
