Working Charge Hand

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for keeping fleets running at their best? Do you thrive on guiding teams and ensuring high standards of reliability, safety and performance? If so, we'd love you to join our engineering team as a Working Charge Hand at Tolworth Garage.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key member of our team, you'll:
Supervise and support our workshop staff during your shift
Ensure all vehicles meet Company, TfL and VOSA standards
Make sure enough clean, reliable vehicles are ready for service
Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimising lost mileage
Oversee repairs, inspections and documentation such as MOT and rota planners
Liaise with service controllers, stores and suppliers to keep everything running smoothly
Monitor quality, cost-effectiveness and timeliness of engineering work
Champion Health & Safety in the workplace

Essential:
Qualified Engineer (Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Proven supervisory experience - able to lead, motivate and coach
Previous bus industry experience
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Solid knowledge of health & safety standards
Organised, methodical and calm under pressure
Flexible, self-motivated and a strong team player
Full UK driving licence

Desirable:
Agresso and Maximo experience
PCV licence
