Full Job Description

About the Role: This is a new role within the People & Culture Specialist Services team, created to bring control and commercial rigour to how the college manages its contingent workforce. The college currently spends in excess of £775,000 per year on agency staff, overtime, and casual work. The Workforce and Resourcing Lead will address the structural causes of that spend by building and managing the Coleg y Cymoedd Talent Bank, operating the spend approval gateway, and leading the development and management of the college's Preferred Supplier List for agency services. We are looking for someone who brings resourcing or recruitment experience (including those from outside the FE sector) - someone who understands how agencies work, can negotiate with confidence, and is comfortable challenging managers at all levels when spend falls outside agreed parameters. Further information: All staff employed at Coleg y Cymoedd have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of learners, and all those working at the College are expected to uphold this commitment. As part of our safer recruitment processes, all new starters must successfully complete the required preemployment checks prior to commencing employment. This includes an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. For roles that involve direct interaction with learners, registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is also a mandatory requirement. We are a values driven organisation committed to employing a diverse workforce and fostering an inclusive environment where colleagues are respected and supported to be themselves. We treat every individual with dignity, fairness, and respect. As a Disability Confident Leader, we actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and communities, particularly in relation to age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion and/or belief. We are committed to removing barriers and making our recruitment processes as inclusive and accessible as possible. We welcome applications in both Welsh and English. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than those submitted in English. If you are a Welsh speaker or learner, we would be delighted to receive your application. Roles at Coleg y Cymoedd are campusbased to support teaching, learner experience and service delivery. Postholders may request flexible working, including limited remoteworking, through the College's Flexible Working Process (a statutory dayone right). Requests are considered individually based on role needs and service coverage. Candidates or employees with accessibility or reasonableadjustment needs are encouraged to discuss these with the People & Culture team. All applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on the advertised closing date. Applications received after this deadline may not be considered.
